Who we are........ |

|
We
are the first Computer Science and Engineering branch (2000-2004)
students of Government College of Engineering Kannur. We
joined the college in November 2000. We still remember the
mist filled hills of
astonishing beauty. It was the time of a pleasant winter.
It was the time for new friendships, which still remains
strong and tender. It was the time of new experiences. It
was the time of homesickness. It was the time of joy. It
was the time to loose some good friendships. It was the
time of options. Some new faces, some lost faces. It all
settled gradually.

It
was just a beginning of a long and wonderful journey, which
lasted for four years. What all we had in
that four years? We remember our systems flooded computer
lab. We still remember the classes and songs by
our Rafeeque Sir, he was the most approachable person we
had there, the "I mean" s and
songs by our Mohandas Sir, and the "ok"
s by Kouser Sir and still the smile of
Anitha Madam. How many guests we had Shabna, Sreeraj, Parassery,
Pravija and so many. Some were generous; some were not as
far as the sessionals were concerned |

|
We remember our juniors who even forgot to give
us a send off in return to the fday we gave them
and batch mates from electronics branch. We remember the
theatres (always a/c) we had there and especially video
shops. One main partner of all video shops is our batch
mate. Regal, Moorthy, Pazhassi these places
were in our minds over that period of time. We remember
the meaningless fights we had in our college. That screaming
sound still haunts us when Rafeeque Sir was
in our class, taking database.

|
We had some nice days, 'Pookkalam', Sports Day, and Arts Day. We had 'Tug of
War' where we had no challenges. We remember the times when
we were called to see the 'kalajatha' from university. We
had joy and fun at the time of our freshers day when some
people were jumping and some people were acting with out
knowing what they are actually doing. We had a great time
when we gave our send off party to our seniors, we remember
the dance and songs we had on that day. We were the most
adored class in our college at that time. The i-zine
and computer association activities were the proofs
to show how we attained and sustained that.

How
many exams we had? Long awaited Kannur Uty results. Full
pass, suppli, scooting application filling, full output,
partial output, no output, bits, bytes, we had these familiar
terms at that time. One took masters in scooting
within the graduation period. We still
and forever remember the events at the time of the seventh
semester exams, strike, meeting, conspiracy and the famous
walkout, which drastically changed the fate of many.

|
Those days were the toughest,
when we entered to the new world of Kannur. We were not
expecting a red carpet reception. But we did not get the
worst. There was one man; we cannot forget him easily. It
was Valsalan Sir, who adopted us. The support
and help he gave cannot be described in words. We first
thought he is not going to be helpful. But we were wrong;
he was the most co-operative we have ever seen in our B-Tech
life. First he opposed, and then he agreed everything. We
thought, we were not having a ground our own. But we adapted
to the conditions. The life in Kannur also gave us some
sweet memories like Techno fest, their
send off party. With the last song "Chalte
Chalte Mere Yeh Geet Yaad Rakhna" we all cried
in our heart, not because of leaving the college but for
some other reasons. That is a painful memory. But we took
all that as a challenge. We thank all the teachers we had
there for giving a support as far as our mark list is concerned.

The
coming days should prove our future. Success comes after
so many failures. We had so many experiences, some were
sweet, and some were bitter but after all life is nothing
but a collection of experiences. We have to face them with
courage. We thank god for giving us such an eventful campus
life. We thank everybody who co-operated to make such a
wonderful B-Tech life. We wish to have and will be having
strong bonds of love and friendship among us forever, through
out our life. This site will be an asset to make our days
brighter forever.
